i like it only because either way i probably wouldnt watch....and to those people that hate the idea? honestly who cares? i like that the nhl is actually TRYING and thinking outside the box. as long as cup final home ice isn't at stake i say do it!

I love the idea, and I'll never be tired of Sid vs Ovie. I wish the rookie game still existed though. Always liked that. I totally agree with PD, it's like having a live fantasy hockey draft with the players. I'll probably watch that over the game. haha.

I'm indifferent. But I agree with you Cup, leave home ice out of the equation and I will be fine.

It sounds good. I personally like the drop in fan-voted players. The only thing that really interested me before was the speed skating contest.

I'm of mixed emotions with home ice. First, the players would care more, second the coaches would care more, since the best coaches in the league in terms of the previous year are the heads.

You might be right. I know baseball is the pennant winners. Either way, those coaches would care if there team was in first at Christmas about home ice. Could be interesting. I think it's silly to determine home ice when the two teams playing each other in the finals can't have played more than twice in an 82 game season, and most likely once.

the regular season kinda means little right now as it is...giving teams something to play for (home ice in the finals) where i do believe it matters is a good reason to play hard.

going back in 2003 i dont think the devils win that cup on the road in ca..in 2001 i think the devils win that game 7 at home though
