Now that we are two weeks away from the draft, I was just curious what the take from everyone on what the front office strategy regarding this offseason really was all along.

At this point, I am pretty disappointed as we way too many holes to address in the draft. I fully expect us to bomb this draft since Bruce is running the show. That being said, the only objectives this front office had were:

1. Find a starting WR
2. Sign cheaper free agents
3. Use the draft to address the majority of the teams needs.

That is my current take. I wish we could sing Hankins!

The only conclusion we can come to is to assume we were going for more experience...old people. Let’s evaluate.

We get rid of a near 30 year old QB for a 34 year old QB while also giving up a 23 year old CB and a third rounder.

We let a 28 year old Murphy go and get a 31 year old McPhee.

It seems to me that the off-season strategy was to fill holes. I don't believe that this organization cares one bit about how those holes came to be, just that they are there, and has to be dealt with.

I don't think that they believe that there was anything to the QB situation other than getting one competent one to replace the other. The cost of that was not relevant to them either because, I believe that from their perspective filling that need (QB) was top priority.

I'm also willing to bet that there are some within this organization who are convinced that injuries prevented them from winning a bunch of the games that were lost and that a healthier year will yield better results.

Next step, the draft and getting other holes filled. after that, a few more free agent moves prior to OTA's and camp.

The plan was,

get rid of any players brought in by Shanahan not named Williams or Kerrigan

Bring in a QB that we can say, we won the Cousins war with

Not sign any free agents that would threaten the comp picks

Game over. :thumb:
