If there were a large monetary prize involved (there is not), I might agree. But these "guesses" are just for fun (and a warm-up for next off-season when the "predictions" for 2012 will get serious again). And it's only been 6 days since the thread started.

I predict 82-80. The pitching will bounce back like it has all year. Ludwick and Lee, sadly, upgrade our offense in a major way. And either Presley or Tabata leadoff will form a decent lineup.

77-85. I really liked watching MacDonald pitch this year. I think he's going to keep on improving. The best thing about this season no matter what happens is the continued investment in development via the draft. They have shelled out 2 or 3 years now. Can't knock that.

This is one contest I don't want to win, but the bullpen seems unable to hold leads any more. Seems to be a pattern -- the Pirates up by a run late in the game and their relievers come in and blow it. When Resop, Veras, etc. come in, you can almost feel a disaster coming. Even Hanrahan has had some bad outings lately. Tough way to wrap up what was an amazing season.
