grossman and kubina allow guys like coburn and carle to play the way they like to play. i may even come around to carle if the defense continues to shine like it has the last few games...well thats a big maybe but i will try and give him a break.

Gust i dont know ive been hearing good things about this kid but dont see him as a top 2 d man.

Wellwood love the speed and tenacity....great 3/4 line guy right now.

Top 2 for Gusty would be huge but I'd be happy if he fills the Carle role down the road. We'll see but once he gets comfortable he should be able to make all the passes out of his zone and be a nice 5/6 guy.

That is a nice observation its the way i see him also, but i was reading on this board about how good he was and how he would fill the void with pronger out so i was expecting a lot more.

they were mostly pipeline dreams and shots at pronger, but, one could argue he's been more useful than pronger this year

yep.. like i said, it was supposed to be more 'pronger sucks' then 'gust is awesome'.. but i guess we never really saw them compete head to head

Wellwood can stay. He has next to no physical presence, but he's good at anticipating the play and can be a decent enough 3/4 guy.

Gusty... uh... how long is Timonen out again?
