A&M taking the 12th Man a little too seriously. Costs them getting the ball back.

Bryce Foster is hurt for A&M which isn't good cause he's are starting center and I hope we don't put Wycoff back at center

In the Alabama game there was a pass interference in the end zone. The pass was intercepted at the 8 or 7 second mark. The defensive back ran it out of the endzone and when the whistle blew there was 3 seconds left.
What is rule as to why no extra time was put back on the clock. If he would have knelt down the clock would have stopped. It appears that if the ref who blew the whistle had waited another 3 seconds the clock would have run out.
I know the game cannot end on a defensive penalty but all that means is one more play when you would think the penalty in the endzone would have stopped the clock.
If I am correct, how stupid is the entire A & M staff for not asking about it. It was never mentioned by the announcers.
