Let's not make up excuses for the guy. He just hasn't had the time he had last year to throw and the passing pocket haven't been nearly as clean. Anytime a QB is under duress, he will perform worse.

We've seen him make the throws this year; he just needs to be more consistent to help make up for our WR corps and oline being new starters. What makes things worse is that all of our opponents seem to have everybody near the LOS and jumping all of our short and medium routes. We need more misdirection and we need to be able to hit the long ball more often to break open some holes in the D for short routes.

I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing speculation on why LT3 isn't performing. I'm pretty convinced David Wilson has a lot to do with it. A) There is the added pressure of being the superstar, while he was still a leader last year, he was not the sole target of opposing defenses like he appears to be this year. That brings me to: B) Teams are not respecting the run as much, even with the same offensive line as last year, I would wager LT3 would get a lot less time to pass. C) Purely a mental phenomenon of not having Wilson there, having a superstar in the huddle just adds something. I look at it just like when the Redskins got RG3 that first game against the Saints, there was a swagger. I'm not going to comment on this week haha but I definitely saw it that first game (the second game it was there at the beginning but the defense collapsed). Anyway, that's my unifying diagnosis for LT3's issues.

The OL has done a pretty decent job pass blocking. The problem is that Logan has been very inaccurate. I don't know if his mechanics have been bad or what, but he is sailing balls and not hitting receivers in stride. I hope things get better, but I'm starting to lose faith.

That's not saying much. After last Saturday, just getting out of bed is an improvement over that shitfest.

The OL hasn't been atrocious in pass blocking, but I don't know that I'd say decent. When the D is getting enough pressure to where LT can't follow through on his throw without hitting them, that's a small pocket. QBs don't like small pockets so much. Or having their follow through interfered with. That's not to say LT isn't to blame for a lot of those bad throws, but the OL isn't off the hook either.

Anyone listen to TTL last night? Just curious as to what the coaches had to say.

Or was it the usual "sniff...one block away...sniff" from Beamer, "I take total responsibility" from Bud, and "the players didn't execute" from Stiney?

I'll admit that I was a little over-optimistic about this season. My expectations are back down to reality now. I think that Pittsburgh may end up being a much better team that people originally thought too. Their RBs are beasts and their lines are BIG boys. I think they end up with a better than .500 season.

I think that Logan will right the ship "enough" to win most games:

I think that we can beat Cincy AND UNC. Unless some drastic improvement happens on both sides of the ball, I don't think we can beat Clemson or FSU.

one game at a time

yep .. read Bitter's column from last night .. same old coach speak, "we're so close on the running game" and "we can make a 4-RB system work", bullshit

Then they'll be the first. I don't ever recall seeing a successful team having FOUR running backs rotate in. It's usually one or two, and in limited cases, a third is used as a specialist.

If he does have an injury (this is pure speculation on my part everyone) then the coaching staff would want to keep it on the DL for sure.

Cue Ryan Williams. His knee was so fucked when he was playing at VT. Kept him playing, and injury on the hush-hush so it wouldn't F his draft stock.

No, there was a lot more going on on with his patella tendon while he was at VT. The injury in Arizona was just the straw that broke he camel's back. Or knee.

Well, I can speak from experience that Dr. Siegel is a hack chop shop doctor. He ruined my right hand and got about 25 minutes of reming out from my hand specialist in northern Virginia. Apparently, it was not the first time he had heard from that group either.

If you are going to completely ruin a job, make sure it isn't on the son of one of the most well know and respected physicians in the Washington DC area. ;)

Bowling Green Game Notes | The Key Play

After reading this, I'm thinking we might not have much of a run game, also, they have outscored opponents in the third quarter 27-10. If we start slow again, we may be in for a nail biter. It will be interesting to see if we can come out firing on all cylinders.

If we don't come out super strong and aggressive directly after last weeks loss, I will start to worry much more about our ACC schedule.
