1979 - the last time an Ohio State coach won Big 10 coach of the year - - - Earle Bruce, the year after Woody Hayes was fired.

Since then, 15 conference Championships, 2 national championships, 4 national championship games, 2 college football playoff appearances, 2 undefeated seasons . . .

The problem is, the Buckeyes never expect to suck. Therefore, the coach is never recognized.

Hard to exceed expectations when you are always picked to win the conference I guess.
