Yikes.... hope the Duda doesn't have to hit the DL.......:L

Terry Collins says Lucas Duda has a "pretty stiff back" over the weekend. Duda was treated with an injection Monday.

...and now Wright is a late scratch????

WTF!!!!!!

David Wright has been scratched with a flare-up or his back issue.

Wilmer Flores is in Florida. Had no pain in hamstring. Travis d'Arnaud is in California working with his offseason physical therapist. Alderson unsure when he can resume throwing a baseball.

Ugghhhh.

Syndergaard says that Harper is going to wish that Paps choked him to death last season after he sees what is in store for him tonight...

I don't particularly LIKE Syndergaard, but he has been really fucking good.
Struck Harper out twice on an ohfer night.
I hope he doesn't end up like Kerry Wood, Noah makes baseball more interesting.

Alejandro De Aza begins working out at first base

NEW YORK (5/19)- Buried on the bench because of the New York Mets' outfield depth, Alejandro De Aza has started working out at first base in an attempt to give the team more flexibility and increase his playing time.

De Aza received instruction from infield coach Tim Teufel before Thursday's series finale against the Washington Nationals.

Manager Terry Collins said De Aza recently approached him, saying he had played 30 minor-league games at first base. (One database lists only one game at the position, in the South Atlantic League in 2004.)

De Aza would be unlikely to start at first base given the presence of fellow lefty hitter Lucas Duda, the incumbent at the position. But if De Aza is passable, it could give Collins a double-switching option later in games.

De Aza signed with the Mets on Dec. 23, when he was projected to platoon in center field with Juan Lagares. The unexpected re-signing of Yoenis Cespedes a month later has severely curtailed De Aza's playing time. De Aza has only 45 plate appearances this season -- more than only Eric Campbell (39) among players who have been part of the team since Opening Day.

"Versatility is huge," Collins said. "And if you want to play more, if you give us more options, you're going to get a lot more playing time. It's tough when you're a fifth outfielder to get in the lineup."

NEW YORK -- The lineups for Thursday's 7:10 p.m. ET rubber game between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals at Citi Field.

Lucas Duda, who had been dealing with back stiffness, is in the Mets' lineup for the first time since Sunday at Colorado.

Mets starter Matt Harvey has won both career matchups against Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg. That includes back on April 19, 2013, when fans at Citi Field chanted "HARVEY'S BETTER." The Nats nonetheless have won 12 straight games started by Strasburg, which matches the club record for a winning streak with one starting pitcher.

Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is 0-for-20 in his career against Harvey. That's one shy of matching the most hitless at-bats in a head-to-head matchup among active players, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. There are actually four active 0-for-21 matchups: David Freese-Felix Hernandez, Jed Lowrie-Hector Santiago, Alexei Ramirez-Edwin Jackson and Gordon Beckham-Wade Davis.

Yoenis Cespedes produced his 30th homer as a Met on Wednesday night. It came in his 92nd game with the club, which is by far the quickest in franchise history to reach that threshold. Runner-up Dave Kingman took 111 games with the Mets to reach 30 homers.

Collins is an idiot.

9-1 nats....top 3rd

Now it's officially even more of a LAUGHER.

Harvey shits the bed again...and the E-6 didn't help either....but he's not getting anyone out....
Might be a good time to consider trading him....???

I've seen this movie a few times.....not gonna watch it again.

Milwaukee comes in this weekend...they must be licking their chops after taking 2 of 3 from the Cubs.

Have a good night, folks.
