Keys to Defense

Jrue Holiday- Keep him off the baseline entirely.

Eric Gordon- Let Gordon shoot three's from anywhere but the left angled three. Let him shoot mid range jumpers from anywhere.

Tyreke Evans- Let Evans shoot the three. Let Evans shoot from mid range.

Ryan Anderson- Force him baseline. Give him the top of the key jumper.

Anthony Davis- Like Joe Smith. Make Davis a jump shooter.

This is all factual. I'm not kidding.

I guess the theory of who's more important Bogut vs Steph is going to be tested tonight. Although Andre isn't playing tonight, so that made ruin that debate.


I'd don't expect a win tonight. I hope the starters don't play heavy minutes. I would still be in favor of just playing the kids in protest.

The Warriors really aught to give Saint a bigger monitor. He gets guys mixed up every night on the Saint E Strator.

My 3 keys to winning this game:

1) Perimeter defense. Without Bogut in the game, they're going to need the guard to prevent dribble penetration from Holiday, Evans and Gordon. Those three guys love to get it going towards the hoop. They need the big guys to stay at home against Anderson at the 3 point line and Davis around the basket. Klay, Steph, HB and Green are all going to have to body up against these guys and prevent them from getting to the bucket.

2) Defensive Rebounding. The team has to gang rebound tonight and not allow additional attempts for the Pelicans. The wings in particular are going to need to pick up the slack. Klay and Barnes have not been impressive thus far on the glass. They need to have at least 6 a piece tonight.

3) David Lee. If he's got Anderson guarding him for most of the game, he's got to get at least 25 tonight. Likewise, when he is guarding Anderson, he's got to stay at home and force Anderson to put the ball on the ground. This is the matchup that will determine the game for the Dubs.

This game will probably be really ugly. Despite the injuries and Bogut's suspension, this should again theoretically be a winnable game for the Dubs, yet they keep dropping those. They need to play smart basketball, keep the ball moving and use a swarming defense to disrupt Davis, and avoid dumb, unnecessary fouls. At least one of Curry and Klay needs to not be shooting 4-17 because we probably won't be doing a lot of damage inside tonight. On the other hand, if we can make this a free-flowing run and gun game, I like our chances.
