With Urban Meyer as the head coach and Trevor Lawrence as the #1 pick and instant starter it will all instantly make Jacksonville relevant and the talk of the NFL next season. Ticket sales will boom for Jacksonville and you will see more of their games on national TV as well. Even if Meyer is only there for one or two seasons it's better for them than the status quo. I think it's an excellent move.

Ticket sales? What is it 2019? This country won't ever let us have full stadiums again.

I'm not sure if you're joking or not but i'm positive they (at least Jacksonville and several other cities/states) will again by next season.

We aren't ever putting this monkey back in the cage. Once rights are handed over they are not handed back.

That's a bit of fatalistic point of view but I think that the odds of normalcy returning by next football season, at least enough normalcy that results in fans filling stadiums again in most parts of the country, are much higher than still being empty or at 25% occupied forever.

No way are the odds higher for that. Falci says these restrictions need to stay in place until the end of next year at the earliest. It's always being pushed back more and more. This is just how it is going forward.

So you are convinced that by next fall the stadiums will still be empty in most states except for the handful that allowed fans this past season during the height of the pandemic despite the current vaccines, potential herd immunity upcoming, more medical treatments, and so on? When do you see stadiums full again then?

If the Jags take Fields over Lawrence Meyer should be fired.

Do you think the Jets truly are going to pass on Lawrence?

Have a “can’t miss” QB prospect and you hire a coach that has never coached at the NFL level. Odd move. Hopefully it works out for them.

I don't think they ever allow us to have full stadiums again. It's not a when, it's never.

Maybe. But I think it is further down the line people think.

I think 3-5 seasons and the first is a marquee rivalry game as a test.

Done deal.

Gonna be interesting to see if Meyer gets a medical condition a few years in.

Shit ton of cap space and Lawrence. You know the first thing he is gonna do is give him some weapons and build it up front. Not sure how it will work out but definitely going to be interesting. Gonna take at least a couple years to rebuild...so this can’t be a short stint if he wants success
