BTW, with the inconsistency of how teams have approached COVID-19, I would expect a lot of odd results/upsets over the first 2-3 weeks.

BYU-Navy was a great example. BYU practiced while Navy barely did anything and it showed on the field.

Also, with two of the Power Five conferences out and that weak schedule, Louisiana has to be hoping for a major bowl game at minimum. Appalachian State looks a lot worse, and the Ragin Cajuns were a class above the rest of their conference last year. They'll probably be favored every game on the rest of that schedule.

I can see that. I am referencing this in another thread. The gap between the American, Conf USA, and Sunbelt vs. Power5 is closing quickly. Especially for the leagues like the Pac12 that don't have a very good local recruiting base.

Iowa State vs. Louisiana is a great example. Louisiana-Lafayette is in a recruiting hot bed while Iowa is meh. Although Iowa State is a Power 5 program, it might be probably that Louisiana-Lafayette could have better talent once they grab the players that could not make it on at LSU, Ole Miss, etc.

Is that the Big 12 that bad or is the Sunbelt that good? Big 12 can't afford a 2nd loss to a Sun Belt team as there are no good non conference games this year to make up for it. K. St must hold on at all cost.

Ark State doesn’t really surprise me. KSU isn’t great and Ark State played a game already. I think that is a big deal in this Covid shortened fall camp. ISU shocked me. Purdy looked rusty and out of sync. I get that from inexperienced teams, but Purdy has a lot of experience
