Under the new men’s format, teams will play seven opponents twice and six teams once (three home, three away) in a given season. The three in-state rivalries – Illinois/Northwestern, Indiana/Purdue and Michigan/Michigan State – will be played twice annually, while the new schedule will also include a regional component to increase the frequency of games among teams in similar areas. Over the course of a six-year cycle (12 playing opportunities), in-state rivals will play each other 12 times, regional opponents will play 10 times, and all other teams will play nine times.
So who gets the 2 wins vs Rutgers every year???
Maryland. Penn State will split with Rutgers each year.
Nothing like going from rivalries against Duke, UNC and UVA to....Rutgers....$$$$ talks(thud)
Andy Katz is now with the Big Ten Network. Pretty good pickup by the BTN.
I obviously don't know the details of their contracts, but from afar, keeping someone like Jeff Goodman over Andy Katz is just dumb. Goodman comes across as unprofessional on social media, and he routinely has terrible opinions.
Interesting year for the Badgers. They lost all but one of their starters which is Happ who is a top candidate for POY in the NCAA. They will be relying heavily on 3 freshmen which never happens. Also these three freshmen round out their best recruiting class ever and all are top 100 players.
They're also returning Pritzel and Van Vilet who are offensive gods but didn't put to much work into anything else until late in the season and worked hard this off season. The coach said those two look like the most improved players on the court. Pritzel scored 28 vs an Austrailian pro team a few weeks back and Van Vilet the 7 foot three point specialist appeared to be well rounded in comparison to last season.
I can see this team starting off as a top 4 BIG team and then competing for the #1/#2 spot in the end of the season and making the sweet 16 again and maybe surprise some people and make the elite 8. So far their 2 week tour in Australia and New Zealand vs pro teams went very well and the freshmen look like veterans out their already.
I'm not hyped up for the championship like I thought we would win in 2015 but it feels like the 2014 season when we made the final four and knowbody knew who the hell the Badgers were that year.
You have to give Wisconsin the benefit of the doubt until the results say otherwise.
Badgers lost 5 star recruit 6'5" SG Tyler Hero. Dude looked nasty on youtube vids and just decided to decommit. WTF????? Why would you decommit from a championship contender that has a track record of developing kids and making them pro's??? Huge mistake by this kid and I feel he will regret this decision for the rest of his life.
Badgers lost out on two in state five star players now at the PF position and SG position for 2018. IDK how in the F this is happening. It's not like we're just playing terrible. I mean they have great academics, accommodations, weight room and facilities, excellent team and a winning culture. Something smells fishy here. I think money is being slipped under the table for these kids. I guess that's what happens sometimes when you abide by the rules all the time. Oh well, their loss.

Gophers whipped Creighton yesterday
That's encouraging. Any news on how Washington and Hurt played?
I didn't get much of a report but based off the box score
Washington has 11 and 4 in 16 minutes. 1/2 from 3 and made his freebies.
Hurt was 0/1 in 10 minutes.
Lynch had a great game. Also Murphy and Mason too but that's more expected on O
Outside of Dekker, Wisconsin generally misses getting the elite in state kids to go there. Missed out on Vander Blue, JP Tokoto, Kevon Looney, Diamond Stone, Henry Ellenson, and now the 2018 kids. Honestly the system probably hinders elite talent to reach their potential, even though Wisconsin generally does a good job of developing lesser rated kids.
