It's going to seem strange to see Iglesias in an opposition uniform.

This afternoon at 1:35 it will be John Lackey against 29 year old Doug Fister.

Fister comes in with a worse WHIP than he's ever had in any of his previous 4 seasons. 1.297 this year against
1.281 in 2010.

Lackey's at 1.619 so far this season. :L

We're going to need better than that in all probability today!

GO RED SOX! :yahoo:

So far, so good. Lackey not having surrendered any runs while I was out grocery shopping
is a pleasant surprise.

Give him some run support, Red Sox

Tonight Jon Lester (1.312 season WHIP, 1.307 career) against 29 year old
Max Sherzer (0.933 season WHIP, 1.230 career)

Prior to the Valentine Fiasco last season Lester had gone 4 consecutive full

Lackey and Sale are two good examples as to why pitcher W-L should be ignored.

One inning only, thank goodness.

Don't let Scherzer have any more easy innings, Red Sox!

At least we did get a man on that half-inning.

Do more than that next inning, Red Sox!

We're lucky Breslow didn't blow the lead!

Why was he allowed to face more than 1 batter?

GO RED SOX! WRAP THIS UP!

Lester was nasty tonight. I take it he's been pitching like that lately ? Max hung a curveball but that was all it took.... and I don't know what Brookens was thinking sending Pena. Oh well... good game.

Tonight, 24 year old Rick Porcello (1.304 season WHIP, 1.397 career) for the visitors,
Ryan Dempster (1.457 season, 1.432 career) for our Red Sox.

Let's have some bat-around innings tonight even if Dempster is sharper than his norm.

Let's also have some people other than myself posting tonight!

Monopolizing threads does nothing for me. Starting them, okay, but I also
want to know who agrees with me, who disagrees, and who notices things I miss for whatever
reason.

VICTORINO!

He may be our best RF since Dwight Evans!

Victorino doesn't have as good a throwing arm as "Dewey" did, but has more speed
and gets rid of the ball quickly.

Evans had a FABULOUS throwing arm, and opposition runners played it STRICTLY one-base-at-a-time
on balls hit is way. He had only fair-to-middling speed but positioned himself so well he didn't need more than that very often. And any ball he could get to he CAUGHT!

Did his best hitting in clutch situations too. I was new to Boston then, but have actually watched him, not just read about him.
