SMH. Of course we can't do shit against former O's. Arrieta and Strop both making us look lost at the plate.

Another game, another beat down being given by the Cubs. Pathetic.
4 runs in 26 innings against this team full of no-names.
I have a feeling the division is gonna get a lot tighter within the next week. These are teams you HAVE to beat to win divisions. This display was absolutely pathetic.
man all weekend
That makes it 3-3 in record and 21-19 in runs for the past week. Unsurprisingly, the team lost some ground: the division lead decreased from 7 games to 6, and the O's will drop from 2 games behind the AL 1st seed to 3.5 games. Definitely a bad week, but it could be much worse. Here are a couple ideas for short-term adjustments:
* Since neither Davis (0.578 OPS in August) nor Flaherty (0.489 OPS in August) is hitting, we might as well start a Triple-A call-up at 3rd since there is nothing to lose. (That could have been Phelps, but he was DFA'ed for Gonzalez.)
* Since Jimenez is now demoted to the long reliever role, you might as well let him throw 100 pitches if the game is a lost cause. (An example would be a situation similar to the game from Saturday. Yes, I know that being down by 3 runs seems too early to wave the white flag... but I guess you could make the argument either way since the win probability at 5-2 that late in the game is only 8.3% on paper.)
i think we need to move schoop to third and bring up weeks or lomb or turn to lhh britton .
I'd rather leave Schoop at 2nd. He seemed to really struggle at his time at 3rd before Manny came back. Put Lombardozzi at 2nd, and let Davis play only when Pearce needs a day off.
lomb is poor at second let alone 3rd .I mean put Lombardozzi at 3rd.
