The Social Dilemma (2020)

On Netflix.
Nothing about it really surprised me, but it was a nice validation for me that I was right in getting rid of facebook, snapchat and about 99% of instagram. Social media is destroying our society, for real.

Despite being born in 89 and therefore being a middle-highschooler as social media started taking off, I never got into. Never had a MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc (and, of course, absolutely do not have a YouTube channel).

I think it is because we moved around so much when I was growing up (father is Army) it seemed daunting to try to stay in touch with so many people in so many places.

There were some interesting things in it, for sure. The fact that a lot of techies don't allow their kids to have social media speaks volumes, IMO.

They made us start calling our users "customers" several years ago... these are within the organization, internal system users. It still seems weird.
