Ragans goes 4.2 innings and gives up 2 earned runs. An error in the 5th kept him from finishing the outing. He gave up 3 was and 3 hits and struck out 6.

Ragans was the only starting pitcher in our system tonight that gave up any runs.

Great games for Bratt, Kindreich, and Brennan.

Also, Dustin Harris has got two hits so far, including his 14th HR.

Fair to say the farm is more stocked than it's ever been?

He could be seen as fodder, himself.
I just think on the open market he would be considered a value. But yeah if he not healthy then for sure don’t pick up his option.

Thinking you may be the only one who considers him fodder but I am not swearing this one way or another for one year. We will be fortunate to be in the olayoffs next year any wise. To me moving Lowe is more preferable

Are you sure about that?
That is what he said in the quote I gave yesterday. He said it happened in the second half of the offseason. We traded for him in ST.

I Hope the (almost forced) position change for Duran isn’t effecting his bat??
He’s not hitting too hot in round rock..

He is new to that league. Of course, we disagree on AAA being harder for guys than AA. I am sure his concentration on his new position could affect him. I think it is really early to be concerned either way though

I just think if we have Heim and Huff on the team that another catcher should get very little playing time. Of course all of this depends on the other changes to our roster between now and the Rule 5 deadline. We could go out and sign someone else who makes Garver needed even less, a DH or 1B. We could also trade Huff or Heim. Lots can change between now and then.

A really close play on the last out of the no hitter.

The offense has been clutch in 4 of the last 5 games. The pitching let us down in 2 of those losses to Baltimore.

Looks like the Rangers have been doing alumni autographs on Saturdays before the game.

Kevin Elster, Mark McLemore, and Dave Valle were yesterday. Charlie Hough, Larry Parrish, and Curtis Wilkerson the previous home Saturday game. Curious to see who they have next weekend, along with the bat giveaway.

From mlbtraderumors.com about the Yankees looking to trade Gallo:

The report from Heyman and Martin suggests the Yankees’ best bet would be teams run by his former bosses in Texas. There’s the Rangers themselves, who are within four games of a playoff spot and could consider doing some buying. Seeing them go after a rental like Gallo would be surprising, though, as this is the first year of what the club hopes to be a multi-year competitive window. Players with a bit more control would be more obvious fits, though perhaps the Yankees are motivated enough to move on from Gallo that they package him with someone else or eat part of his salary. In the short-term, there’s certainly room for Gallo, given the club’s roster. The Rangers have been featuring an outfield mix of Adolis Garcia, Kole Calhoun, Brad Miller and Leody Taveras in recent days. Miller is having an even worse year than Gallo, slashing .210/.261/.347 for a wRC+ of 73. The club has also been featuring Mitch Garver at designated hitter most of the time, but he’s going to undergo season-ending surgery tomorrow.
