The new Glock 43

You mean the one where it won't fire unless the trigger is pulled? All makers have that one. "Don't pull the trigger and it won't fire" is not a safety.

I will not. I like the slimness of these pistols but the grip length and barrel length are just too short to be effective for much more than bad breath distances.

I've got a Glock 19 and it's a nice gun but it will probably be the only Glock and 9mm I will ever own. I just don't see the point in having multiple guns of the same caliber if I am going to spend my money I want something new and different.

I wouldn't mind holding one but I'm still in love with my Shield 9mm. Also have a PF9 as a backup so I don't really need one.... however, that's never stopped me before.

It's almost exactly the same size as a Glock 26 which I'm good with out to 30 yards. Only difference is the width. And I'm sure you'll be able to buy aftermarket base plates for the magazines which extend the grip, which is what I did for all my 26 magazines. So if you were considering one but didn't like those two particular characteristics, I would still go try one out.

I like buying multiples of the same exact gun. But I'm not a collector. Right now I only own two handguns and they are identical CZ P-07 in 9mm. I may even add a third.

My use of bad breath distances was an over-exaggeration on my part. The first gun a logged significant time on was a Glock 27 and I learned to shoot it well enough. But no matter how good I can get with a smaller gun I can get a good bit better with a slightly larger one without giving up much in the way of concealability. The length of the barrel (as long as it's under 5") to me, has very, very little to do with how well a gun conceals. So I see no point in owning anything smaller than a 4" barrel (within reason of course, my P-07 isn't quite 4" but it's pretty close at 3.87"). I would have some interest in something like the XDS-9 4" if something like that were made in a gun that I had interest in.

I hear ya. Height and width are definitely the top two priority factors for me when considering concealability. The 26 is a bit thick but not sure I would want to give up the capacity of switching to the 43. Still I want to shoot one and would definitely consider buying one.

I have a 26 and 36 and both are great pistols. I will get a 43 at some point. Should make a great Summer gun.

I carry my Sig P238 for summer. Dont see the need it. Plus it probably will not make the MA state compliance list anyways.

I like the look of it, but I just don't like not having a safety on Glocks. I know, I know, the trigger is the safety...but for my peace of mind I like a physical one. That's why the shield is a little more appealing -- plus -- the shield is a little less expensive and you can get it in .40.
