I heard Atlanta was in play as well. I wonder if Chicago could get Pitts first rounder if they get a bidding war going
I’m guessing the falcons want a qb to go with Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Robinson. I doubt we get any of the three in a trade for fields.

Not a chance in hell would we get one of them........maybe one of their better def guys straight up with no extra pick, but that would be about it.....

I said a 3rd awhile ago,but yeah if we get lucky a 2nd at best......
Fields with a 5th year option is still cheaper than half the QB's in the league. And maybe better than half the QB in the league.

This may sum up the most accurate, up to date status of the seemingly endless saga:

And for those who can't read the article, this paragraph sums it up best:

Perhaps the most (only?) interesting development in the whole affair is the directional shift of the discussion. The loud debate over whether the Bears should keep Fields has given way to a loud debate over whether Pittsburgh or Atlanta is the best landing spot for him. The keep-Fields crowd is waving the white flag, acknowledging that the Bears are going to trade him. They still think the team is making a mistake, but they are making way for the inevitable.

It really does feel that way, doesn't it.

And its still a possibilty we may only get a 3rd.........

I would love to see a second tho.....seems he had gotten better as the yesr went when I quoted a 3rd.......
And there are some autrocious qbs out there......

JF was 23rd in qbr,rtg and average passing yards per game, add his rushing yds and its A tad higher......
His 4th qtr stats are not good either.......

Teams may use that against us.....he tanks one more season,we get absolutley nothing......

Now Im not saying with a little more help we have our guy,nor am I saying CW is our guy,but what I am saying is after 3 seasons and we are talking qb he is not our guy....and I do think if CWs floor is where JF is now CW is our guy for the next 3 seasons before you can compare the two......

And the wild card lies in the trade of the first pick.....

Which ever is decided,I believe we are still a winner.....

Possibly. If the market was lean and the rumor mill was idle, i might agree.

However, seems like trade partners and scenarios from other teams keep popping up on the interweb. Have seen ATL, NE, CLE, MIN and PIT to name a few. Even if some are unlikely, that has to be good for "value" to inflate above a 3rd.

It just got worst for the trade market on JF......

Not sure why anyone would want a Bears qb,especially if we are moving on from him.......

I highly doubt aymore we can get a 3rd,4th at the very best.

Minnesota for a 4th......??

It would be the dumbest trade in Bears history. Poles should simply keep Fields for the time being, even assuming we draft Williams. No harm in that at all. At some point somewhere in this 32 team league, there will be an injury or other reasons for a team to reach out. I'm trusting Poles, while obviously disappointed, will be patient in this matter.

If someone wanted JF,they would of already done it......

Minnesota will draft one at 11 or trade up.....not sure about the Raiders.....

And we will keep him,I just dont see Poles releasing him.......besides,how many do we have this year 5??,maybe 4 after the dumb Bates trade??
And yyet some of us wanna trade down for more more draft capital that the extra picks very well could end up in 2025.......thats not gonna help us this year.....
Just trade JF for whatever we can get......

But its funny no one has even made an offer.....

No argument here. But that's right now, and my point was it's a long season. The chances that a need for a starting QB due to injuries or what have you will eventually pop up. It would be dumb to ship Fields out at the present for the draft equivalent of pennies on the dollar. So again, Poles would be wise to simply hang onto Fields and that includes even if we take Williams with the 1st pick.

We are just gonna have to disagree on this one......lol

And say we do trade next season, what are we gonna get for a back up qn ON A BEARS team,a team known for bad qbs......??
I still dont think it would be much and it will be a 2025 pick which wont help us out this season,a season we could use it more.......
And Im dead set at keeping the 9th pick instead of trading down......

Poles will obviously cast the deciding vote. I just hope he's smart and doesn't panic-trade Fields, getting jack squat at this point.

As for keeping the 9th, I'm fine with this, especially if one of our key wishes is there when the number pops up on the draft board. Otherwise, I'd be more than open to Poles trading it back, depending of course on what he gets in return.
