Wisconsin at 7 is fair. It'd be nice if people would reference some of the good micro-brews other than New Glarus every now and then.

Oregon deserves to be #1 for Deschutes alone. Best beer in America.

Before this page even popped up I had Oregon and California 1 and 2 to post here. The best IPAs and American Wild Ales (sour) come from these 2 states.

Alpine
Lost Abbey
Russian River
Firestone Walker
Boneyard
Hair of the Dog
Upright
Ale Apothecary
Logsdon
etc.

An amazing lineup

This list has some question marks.
Why? Post some specifics.

From what I saw it was pretty damn accurate and seems to have been written by someone who actually knows craft beer well, unlike most of these lists. Naming Cigar City and Perennial in particular had me nodding in approval. I think the only one they should have mentioned was Jester King for Texas.

If you're passing through CT, stop by City Steam for a Naughty Nurse. Then continue on to Boston or NY (whichever way you were driving)...

We have a few nice breweries, but no where near enough....

42. Ehh, not surprised. Flying Fish and River Horse are pretty good though. If you're ever in NW NJ, try to go to Krogh's Brewpub in Sparta. Their beers are great.

Not shocked at where the ol' homestead South Carolina ranks. Damn Blue Laws and such. It'll be another 20 years before they have a decent set of breweries.

New York at 9 seems a little high to me, although there are some seriously good micros upstate. The blogger doesn't even mention Southern Tier, which makes Captain Lawrence taste like sheep-dip.

Virginia's in at 28 but should be climbing the rankings. A lot of good stuff is happening here.

Virginia is for beer lovers. Or at least it’s getting there fast. Another state where weird laws (these ones involving how much food you needed to sell, for some God-awful reason) held brewing back for a while, VA’s got some real action going now, from entrenched favorites like Legend, Star Hill, and Devils Backbone, to new kid Smartmouth, whose canned IPA and Saison are (somewhat) specifically designed for you to drink on a boat. But they’re really good on land too! And all this leads to an interesting and telling halo effect: two of its cities -- Richmond and Norfolk -- are amongst the three finalists for Stone’s newest super-brewery/blissful outdoor drinking compound.
