Too much smoke for me to defend Dana. Wright, this kid, Chris over at 247 and more have all talked about how Dana didn't recruit as he should have.
The guy just doesn’t have what it takes to run a big boy program as a HC. Good OC, he needs to stick to that.

That article was dead on spot, name one thing in it that is not true, Holgorsen left some good running backs, no QB, no OL, a defense that needed retooled. Say what you will, Holgorsen left the cupboard empty for himself, saw the writing on the wall, and bolted, blaming the school for HIS failures.Hickey is a Reese Moron

WTF, zero comparison.......Smith was a starter under the previous coaching staff, had received effective coaching under Stewart and staff Allison mostly sat the bench under Holgorsen and was not up to the task when needed to start when Grier bolted on his team.... Austin was a once in a great while player who had played very effectively, remember what the mad hatter said when the Stewart coached team went to Baton Rouge and nearly beat LSU????? Bailey was again another great player who only comes along once in a while. You are making yourself look foolish by trying to say Holgorsen inherited less talent than he left........Holgorsen had every egg in the basket for last year, and had not prepared for this year at all, he felt he had the team last year to finally get over the hump, would get a long extension, and ride out this year with that extension, when last years team underperformed, he knew that he left the cupboard bare and left, knowing after a two or three win season this year he would be fired........The talent level of the team overall is light years ahead of anything Dana took over in '11.
Geno Smith was a 4 star QB out of South Florida. Jack Allison is a 4 star QB out of Florida.
Tavon Austin was a 4 star WR out of Baltimore. TJ Simmons is a 4 star WR who transferred from Bama.
Stedman Bailey was a 3 star WR out of South Florida. Sam James is a 3 star WR out of Georgia.
Everything you have stated in both of these posts says Holgorsen inherited more and better than what he left.......Dana inherited a DC and system already in place... the 3-3-5 stack. Neal brought a new DC and a new scheme... the 4-2-5.
If anyone doesn't think that makes a difference... then they can stay in the corner and cry about the cupboard...
