A good outing from Heaney through 3 innings today.

I don't know if any of ya heard the interview on Norm&D's show, but he gave an awful lot of credit to the Dodgers for the work they did with him, which in turn has 'hopefully' turned him into a solid starter, for a desperate franchise in need of one. His tip-of-the-hat to his previous employer seemed like a foregone thought process. It made me like him even more!

Yes I was never impressed with him as a Halo but he seems to be a big strikeout pitcher now. Seem transformed by LAD

Happy 72nd birthday to Ranger great, Jeff Burroughs.

In 1973 he hit 3 grand slams in a 10 day span. The next year he won the MVP award. After the 1976 season we traded him to the Braves for 5 spares. He hit 41 HR for the Braves in 1977. That trade still ranks right close to the top in worst trades in Rangers history.

Actually, I was thinking we had a chance to win that many with Otto or Dunning in the rotation. Now that Ragans has upped his game, I am confident that if we have to use Ragans and either Otto or Dunning for an extended period of time that we will still get close to 85 wins.

Let's say you are the GM and the owner tells you that he wants you to come up with a plan to replace each member of this year's projected rotation with guys who are cirrently in our system, and he wants the transition completed within 4 to 5 years. Who do you think the 5 guys will be and give an ETA for each?

Let's say you are the GM and the owner tells you that he wants you to come up with a plan to replace each member of this year's projected rotation with guys who are cirrently in our system, and he wants the transition completed within 4 to 5 years. Who do you think the 5 guys will be and give an ETA for each?

Keith Law has named a sleeper prospect for each team. Last year he picked Luisangel Acuna. This year he has picked Anthony Gutierrez. I question either his definition of "sleeper" or his choice. Acuna was not a sleeper prospect a year ago and Gutierrez is not really one this year. Here is his full scouting report on Gutierrez.

Gutierrez has some of the best tools in the system, with a 70 arm, great bat speed, and power to the opposite field already as a 17-year-old in the DSL and ACL last year. He’s in center field now but might end up moving to a corner as he fills out his 6-3 frame. Signed in January 2022 for just shy of $2 million, he’s barely begun growing into his body, and might even gain a little speed in the short term as he improves his coordination. The hit/power combination gives him All-Star upside in a corner, with the obvious caveat that he’s 18 and hasn’t even played beyond the complex yet.

Jim Callis has labeled Guitterez as one of ten top sleeper prospects in all of baseball.
