Those guys deserve their own thread...absolutely CARRYING this team with the shitty starting pitching. Can any other team say they have 4 closers all with basically the same stellar numbers (around 2.15-2.20 ERA for all 4 of Melancon, Dyson, Watson, Strick. Then the 2 non closers...have better numbers! (Moronta and Smith).

Just sayin'

FYI...

ESPN released a list of the best bullys. They ranked the Giants #20.

That’s not a typo...

Number twenty.

:L

There is a thread about it on the MLB general board.

Was this in April or is it recent?

Literally retarded then. What numbers are they looking at?

I don't pay for Insider, and by the looks of it I'm better off because of it.

Clearly they're looking at name recognition, or they had the football analysis write a baseball article today

They could be looking at the numbers from Gearrin, Johnson, Osich, Gomez, Law, Valdez and Snelten as well. None of them are pretty.
If they are looking at everyone weighted by IP there's literally no way the Giants are 20th

This. Is the only thing that makes any sense. They must be looking at team totals instead of looking at who is actually there and what they are doing.

Let's just hope the FO doesn't take it seriously and decide they need to upgrade the bullpen next month.

Maybe the lesson they will take is dump Gearrin asap!

Still doesn't explain the Rockies at 3rd, who've been bad all year
I cannot read the entire article but I saw enough to read how they were ranked:
"To this end, here is how all 30 bullpens rank in MLB, according to the ZiPS projection system. For each team, I'm listing the team's bullpen ERA to date and their ERA projection for the rest of the season, as well as their bullpen's projected likelihood to help (or hurt) their playoff odds compared to an "average" bullpen to help provide a sense of who could use some help to boost their postseason bid, and who owes how much of their shot to the relievers they have. Teams are ranked by their projected bullpen WAR over the rest of the season."

Then why is it called a "power ranking?" typically power rankings evoke a sense of "what you've done for me recently" not a projection for the rest of the season.
