Yeah, that was the year that Wake won the ACC.
I'm impressed with Taggart's ability to re-build programs at the G5 level, as well as his ability to recruit and identify talent. Think this is going to turn out good for FSU.
FSU lawyers when they noticed thisWillie Taggart never signed a final contract. Here’s why it could matter
sounds like it may drag out a while too.
TLDR: They never signed an official final contract. Willie could have really screwed himself over.
So for those that didn’t read the article, Taggert signed the Letter of Intent outlining the basics of the contract but FSU never offered a finalized contract.Willie Taggart never signed a final contract. Here’s why it could matter

Not signing a contract has happened once at Kentucky and before it could go to court, it was settled for half of what the buyout was supposed to be.
Sorting Out the Billy Gillispie and Kentucky Wildcats MessCan't see how that matters. FSU obviously thought they had a deal, and the guy was on the sidelines coaching, and getting paid.
This will fall under state law so a precedent in KY is not necessarily applicable in Florida. I'm not an attorney but my best guess is that the KY argument will be made (stupid not to) and the judge will probably use it for some type of cover. If you think about it this will make the judge's job easier and any relief FSU gets will come as a bonus.Sorting Out the Billy Gillispie and Kentucky Wildcats Mess
This is the precedent. Gillespie worked for two years without ever signing a finalized contract. He was owed $1.5 million per year for the last 4 years of contract. It was settled for $2.98 million.
Fuck you.Oh and before I forget:
Nebraska would have given Taggart a 2 year extension on the letter of intent.
Jim Harbaugh 2.0 sittin at FSU now.
He’s like Harbaugh in that he still doesn’t have “his guys” in the system yet.He would have never lost his job if he were Harbaugh 2.0.

I think the article mentions something about how being an "at will" state could play a role. This will fall under state law so a precedent in KY is not necessarily applicable in Florida. However, good Lord Taggart how fucking stupid are you?
“At Will” comes into play if they rule there is no contract and at that point they can fire him without cause. I think it’s fair to say they had a verbal. My guess is they split the baby as they did in KY.I think the article mentions something about how being an "at will" state could play a role.
Anyway, no way is he getting his full compensation. Whatever it ends up being.
How can you just let that go? His agent dropped the ball, big time
