Wow, those are pricey but definitely top quality. Thanks so much for the info. I'll check out the others too.

I'm imagining that the cheaper ones aren't constructed with sound eliminating bushings and such. Is that true? Seems like beyond comfort, silence when you shift your weight might be the most important thing.

I'm 53 and have shot a couple of deer but all from the ground. I have a new 100 acre plot this year and have snagged a few bucks on my trail cam and have a series of active scrapes already so I'm getting psyched to try to do it right this year.

Again, thanks for the info.

Lone Wolf's are good, Summit and Milliniums are really good too and seem to have better seats.

IMO Lonewolf makes te most silent tree stand made. Others are good but you tend to have to be careful with them to insure silence.

A little practice in the stand and you can find yourself quiet as a mouse.

Thanks guys. I went with a Summit Goliath SD climber. Got it new on ebay for 285.00 free shipping. It got great reviews at Cabelas so it seemed like a good choice.

Summit makes a nice product. I am sure you will be happy with it.

So I have that climber that should arrive soon but I have another question for you guys.

My hunting partner bought a two man ladder stand this weekend. My fear is that with opening day about a month away, it hasn't been placed early enough.

Is this a valid concern ie should it have been placed back in Aug or Sept? We have all kinds of active scrapes and sign and I don't what to mess anything up. Or do you think they'll get accustomed to it in short order?

It will be fine. Put it in and leave it be for a couple weeks. Then go sit in it if you want.
