Thank God.

There were some guys I was happy with going after in FA, and Titty Kisser was one of them.

Glad then didn't try to trade for a Jimmy or Watson.

Damn, I couldn't get to my online betting account before the odds for Pitt to win the SB plummeted

Like they had a chance anyway. This team was destined to be 3rd or 4th in the division anyway.

Essentially this solidifies Tomlin's 8-8-1 streak.

On one hand, Big Ben wasnt that good last year so Trubisky's average play is about the same as Big Ben. On the other hand, the Steelers had 9 wins last year and 7 of them involved Big Ben and a game winning drive.

The opportunity is there if Mitch is actually a good QB. More likely, the Steelers are the 4th place team in the AFCN, though, and drafting a new QB in 2023.

Maybe with a competant organization around him and without the expectations of a number 2 overall pick Mitch relaxes and becomes a better player. Considering the choices out there this is a pretty sensible move.

.....and with the #20 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Kenny Pickett.

Nah. I suspect this move takes them out of the 2022 QB market. This years draft smells a bit like 2013. Deep 2nd and 3rd round. Not any high end QBs.

I wouldn’t be surprised they now trade back and acquire more picks if the player they want is available later.

IE… more picks for next years draft to trade up to get the QB they really want.

I'd take Cole Kelley in the mid-rounds, a small school kid who has potential but needs time.

Like I said in the Steelers board, I would find a problem with whoever we got no matter what. So here it is.

Con - Mitchel Trubisky is an average QB who couldn't cut it as the starter for a losing team in Chicago.
Con - He settled for a backup job for Buffalo because noone would sign him as a starter.
Pro - He has a winning record as a starter.
Pro - He's agile and can be a decent mobile QB
Pro - He led the Bears to the playoffs in 2018 with an 11-3 record as a starter
Pro - Not too shabby TD:INT ratio (64 TDs, 38 INTs)
Con - Not sure of the money behind it but I'm sure we overpaid for him.

Overall feeling? Eh. Mason Rudolph, Mitchell Trubisky. 6 in 1, half dozen in the other.
