Someone posted on twitter that Stamkos would like to go to Toronto. It is said that Stamkos liked that post.

It makes sense. In my opinion, the Stamkos pre-injury was much better than the Stamkos post-injury. I really don't see that he returned to his pre-injury form. What do you guys think?

You are right ISR, he's nowhere as good as he was in his first four or five years. That is probably a sticking point in negotiations.

As of this Sen's game tonight, Stamkos has not scored a goal in his last 7 games played. I agree with you, Bolt, and it's a big sticking point!

Ever since he broke his leg and Marty left him he is no longer a top 5 nhl player. I'd say he is maybe the 15th best player in the nhl right now.

Well rumor is he wants 12 million a season for 8 years and the Lightning only offered 9 or 10 per year.

I honestly don't see his worth at 9-10 mil per season at this rate of productivity!

I honestly think if Stamkos has no in signing an extension with the Lightning that they won't trade him unless at the deadline things are looking bleak in terms of making the playoffs, I think they will keep hold off him and try to compete and win it all. If they lose him in FA.. they will lose him in FA and they will have to figure out how to replace him. They could look on the FA market itself as Anze Kopitar, Eric Staal & David Backes are all scheduled UFA's at the end of the season. The bolts other option is a trade and the bolts have a ton of young players / prospects who they could move. Considering the Av's are rumoured to be shopping Matt Duchene I think a possible deal could be Duchene for Drouin, Erne or Koekkoek and a pick could make sense.

He gets knocked off the puck so easily lately and his scoring goals has taken a nose dive, I just don't think he's worth the money he's asking and Stevie Y knows that. I think he'll walk and whoever gets him will be disappointed. I really liked him for a long time but he's not the same player he used to be.

Like Vinny, the injury seemed to make both less than they were pretty injury.

That's true once Cooke busted Vinny's shoulder he was barely a twenty goal scorer for the rest of his career. And it was a sad day in Boston when Stamkos broke his leg on the goal post, no more 60 goal seasons, maybe a forty goal season if he picks it up.
