Assuming Aoki in Left, Pagan in Center and Blanco in Right, we don't lose anything on D and if Blanco is hot, we don't lose MUCH on offense, assuming this will only be 3 or 4 weeks max. Blanco is an elite #4 OF.

The only real concern I have over this is the fact that Pence has never had to deal with a "major" injury before. If this ends up being a nagging irritant, will this begin to affect him since he has such lousy mechanics to begin with?

Basically, I just see this as a speed bump in the road, not a detour.

Irrational fans on twitter crying out for Allen Craig for some reason. Some USA Today reported even suggested he'd be the perfect fit.

It's unfortunate news, and hopefully we see a speedy recovery. But I'm honestly not too concerned given the timing. If this was in July, August, or September, I'd be much more worried.

Craig makes no sense. His D is arguably worse than Morse's and he was non-existent offensively in '14 (66 OPS+). AND he is guaranteed 26M over the next 3 years ('18 is 13M option with a 1M buyout).

MAYBE if the Sox will eat 1/2 - 2/3 of the $$, I would be willing to give him a try for a scrub going to Boston, but that wont happen, so no point in discussing it further.

I know I'm :deadhorse: at this point, but maybe we'll see more Belt in LF this spring, Posey at 1B and Susac/Sanchez splitting time behind the dish. It's almost 99% guaranteed Giants just weather the storm and stick with Blanco/Perez/Maxwell to fill in, but it's a dark-horse option.

I am not against Belt in LF. It is just that the org has said AND shown that they have zero interest in that option. The fact that he played a grand total of ONE inning in the OF in '14 and not at all in '13 tells me something.

Same goes for Posey at 3B. I am OK with it, but in both words and deeds, the org is not. Therefore, I don't see it as an option.

I was asking where he was seeing it at the time. At the time of the post, there were no estimates for how long he would be out. About an hour after, the estimates of "6 to 8 weeks" broke.
He plays a doctor on TV.

Black, Blackburn and Turley are the first "cuts" of the spring.

Of course none of them were in contention for roster spots, but I am a bit surprised Black and Blackburn were sent down so soon.

Blackburn was reported to have a sore shoulder ("felt a twinge") by today's SJMerc.

Also, I thought we divested ourselves of Brett Bochy. I am not comfortable with the perception of conflict of interest.

He is still with the org, just not on the 40 anymore. Not sure if he just "accepted the assignment" or if he re-signed, but it happened rather quickly, IIRC.

Wow, I was hoping to see Ray Black when I went down. Maybe I'll see him in the Giants future's game.

Is Bumgarner pitching right-handed or something?

Big week for pitchers. Cain's back today (already pitched a 1-2-3 inning against the Dodgers). Huddy is back Wednesday. Lopez is pitching tomorrow, and Romo is planning to pitch this week.

I watched Cain pitch today and he looked dialed in and fit. Must have lost all the weight that Pablo found. His fastball was down and his breaking pitches looked unhittable. He looked better than anytime I have see nhim in the past two-three seasons. Dude might be the ace again over MadBum.

Even if Cain is back to being "Cain", Bum is still the Ace 1a. Cain can be Ace 1b, though.

That would be nice, having 2 Aces again...

With the movement on Lincecum's pitches being awesome too we might have 3 Aces again. Just saying.

But, Madbum might be a better fit as the Lefty in between two dominate Righties. I hate having only one lefty as a starter. Id love for us to have L, R, R, L, R or atleast R, L R, L, R But as of now we are stuck at having L, R, R, R, R, R

had great seats to watch the Giants just get blasted by the Padres yesterday. That team looks really good! Got my first look at McGehee as well. He looks like a fat little troll. Extremely poor baserunner too.
