The problem with the NBA is that they're making intrinsically toxic political statements. That isn't something I made them do.
No one made you come here and get into a multi-day circle jerk either. Now run along and take your political stuff where it belongs. Last warning.

Blame Jeff van Gundy and Marc Jackson for the shitty ratings. I can't stand those two blabbering on about their own bullshit opinions rather than focus on the game.

As soon as the 2024-25 season ends, TNT should get the rights to the NBA Finals.

You have been shown MULTIPLE times why the ratings are what they are and its not the reason you've latched on to yet you still barge ahead. So it looks like you're the one in here giving yourself a colonoscopy.
I have been the only one who has shown a link for the reason for record low numbers. That is not an accurate depiction of what has transpired.

Social justice is quite literally anti-racism.

We all see where you stand though.
North Korea also calls itself a democratic republic but nobody actually believes it. I think you should be ashamed of yourself for promoting this disgusting and racist ideology. The fact that you’re a teacher who can preach this divisiveness to our children sickens me.

You've been asked multiple times to drop it. Start a thread on this in the Pf

I do teach kids how to be respectful and kind to everybody. That is possibly the most important thing kids are learning in school today because unfortunately, they are getting mixed messages elsewhere from people like you.

And if you think that means that I am “preaching divisiveness” then you are a damn fool.

If I may, y’all right and wrong . There has been talk of ratings being down, not just in basketball.

Personally, I have abstained from watching game for 2 reasons. The Knicks , my team sucks. And secondly, just no player I look forward watching. Maybe curry, but he is out west , so here on east coast we have very little. ThereS nothing extraordinarily different in game today. You know the result pretty much before game even begins.

years ago when I was watching , you had my fav, Julius the dr. chocolate thunder, olajajaun, all the Lakers , bird man and the celts, Charles Barkley. The mailman, iceman, Etc.

what do we have today? Freekin whiners!

I can't totally disagree with any of those. It was Pops, I believe, who is paraphrased in the last one.
It feels like I'm watching a video game and some have cheat codes.
The game needs some rule changes and 3-point line adjustments IMO.

Yep! When dampfony was here in Ny, get up the court as fast as you can, push pill down low only for it to be passed out to one behind the 3 pt line. And who the heck did we have on roster who shot better than 25% from there. Jr shcitt?

there is no more low post game. 7 footers handlin ball and hurlin up 3’s . Watched AD last night, almost taken out by own player cause he’s makin move to hoop from beyond 3 pt line. Big guy like that should mostly for most part be down low . I get it. Today’s game is show all you got.

I think there is hope tho, the few games I’ve watched this year. Not so much iso, I could be wrong. I never last more then 10 games a year , and maybe 5 minutes of each game. If that .

yea, I’m a freek ! So what! I know how a game should be executed.

NBA PPG AVG

2000----------94.8
2005----------97.0
2010----------99.6
2015---------102.7
2016---------105.6
2017---------106.3
2018---------111.2
2019---------111.8
2020-21----113.6 (19 games)

The emphasis on scoring at the expense of defense makes the game less interesting imo. Its probably a generational thing.
TBF, there were also high PPG numbers pre-1995.

It goes in cycles. Pre-1980, the NBA was essentially little more than a barnstorming league. There was a lot of emphasis on individual play.

In the 80's the game became much more team oriented with a lot of ball movement and scoring. But there was also still some pretty physical defense played. The Bad Boy Pistons took the physicality to a higher level and the 90's and 00's were extremely physical to the point where it sometimes barely resembled basketball.

In the early 00's the league started moving away from the physicality of the 90's by changing some of the rules, but they've gone too far, imo. They need to get back to a mix similar to the 80's when there was plenty of scoring, but also some physical defense being played as well.

Not really a surprise a Lakers fan thinks the 80s was the golden era LOL
