Tell me this:

Why in the world would NBA players be expected to fight for civil rights in China, when things still aren’t right over here?

I applaud anybody who wants to stand up for China. But to expect that is pretty lame.
Not expecting it, saying in jest. China is a huge market for the NBA, so I doubt the NBA would ever upset that apple cart.

What is going on in China is far worse than any perceived transgressions here in the USA.

People aren't asking for NBA players to fight for Chinese civil rights, they are expecting them not to be hypocrites. You shouldn't stuff your pockets with Chinese money while criticising USA institutions, when what is going on in China is infinitely worse & you don't dare say a peep for fear of losing access to all that money.

I agree that what is happening in China is a lot worse.

But do you honestly think Americans protesting for China would do a damn thing? It wouldn’t. Short of full on military invasion (which would be an awful idea) there isn’t a whole lot to do that will actually create results.

So I think trying to fix local problems That have a chance at actual progress is fairly reasonable.

The “but China“ argument is tired and irrelevant. It is a grasp at a straw.

It wasn’t bullshit, it just truth you’re not willing to accept. Mostly peaceful protests don’t end up with burned down buildings, random people getting assaulted, and people getting murdered.

Indeed. And the vast majority of BLM protests....don't either. Because they are peaceful.

I think that is fair.

Totally unfair to say a person can’t speak out about injustice here if they don’t also speak out about China

You don't have to take their money tho

Would you take money from North Korea and Iran too if it was offered?

It's the people of China who want to watch the NBA and spend their money on it, not the regime. If anything the more cultural ties we have with China the better chance we can influence them.

Most Nazi gatherings didn’t either. It didn’t make them good people.

I bet your rhetoric is a real hit with your black friends
I’m glad you’re obfuscating here. It doesn’t seem like you take it seriously.

Right.

Let’s compare a group that commits genocide to one protesting for social justice.

Sounds reasonable.

How do you know what BLM would do if they had power? They already loot stores and act like fools...

Social justice is code for socially acceptable racism. They’re a hate group.

Are you really comparing protestors for racial justice and better policing to Nazis? Shows where your head's at I guess LOL
