Pure nonsense. The crowds were massive and allowing them to stream down the 18th fairway behind the final group was like the old British Opens. Nothing even close on the PGA which put forth the embarrassing Zurich Classic, a silly season team competition. No one could even name most of the players in that absurdly ridiculous event. But at least they finally found a way to get McIlroy a win by giving him a partner

I can tell ya this, you play the course 1 time a year and that's after enjoying wide-open courses, some without trouble at all. Augusta is one of the toughest courses there is. I'm going to say they relaxed too much and took it for granted, let's remember a lot of PGA players crapped the bed too. It's golf one day you're up the next not but you never get the same shot twice.

Yes, but as has been pointed out to dullboy repeatedly, the two groups of entrants were not equal. The LIV guys were coerced away from the PGA tour because they're the top players.

I agree somewhat, see I can't say Taylor Gooch excites people enough to think taking him from the PGA made a negative impact for the PGA, I can see Phil but not everyone. Good point though

there is a lot of pressure for a LIV guy in the Majors because every golf fan wants one of the LIV guys to win so badly and this puts a lot of pressure on them
