"slim pickens"?...You don't think Jameis Winston is a bonafide prototype NFL starting quarterback? Does he have social media baggage?...absolutely he does. But, so will every all star college player/pro athlete going forward. How many of our current NFL superstars or former/future HOF players which broadcast these games have been accused, or worse yet been convicted? Holy freakin' cow people...

Man, the times we live in, right?...How do you think American sport icons like "The Mick" or LT would do with social media society today? LOL.

Screw it, I'm done with professional sport and all these bad apples. Time to fill my Sundays with good, clean christian television...like reruns of The Cosby Show.

No one doubts his physical talent. The fear is, you get a player who is too wrapped up in his own brand and his social media and all the other stuff to actually put time in and become more than just a college super star. For every Winston who is all about the me generation, there will always be a Luck, Wilson or dare I say Tannehill. Guys who werent all about the its my world mentality and have become good QBs in their own right. If we give up on Griffin only to draft Winston in the top five, thats like trading in your civic for a sentra and then complaining its cant tow your bass boat.

Winston is an exact clone of Newton to me. With the off field baggage and the explosive athletic talent. He is the #1 Qb in this draft. I'd be shocked if he gets out of the top 5.

Agreed. But even if we are picking in the top 10 and he is there, the Skins should pass.

I agree. I have a funny feeling that Cousins might be the QB in 2015.

Only way that happens is if we trade Griffin for a first rounder, its an open comp that he wins, or Griffin gets injured again.

But reality is, if Griffin is here, Dan will have Bruce make the "suggestion" that we give Griffin every opportunity even if it means burning another season.

IF we were offered a 1st rounder for Rg3 I think we would take it in a heartbeat. It looks like to me that Gruden has had enough of RG3. Cousins and Mccoy battle in training camp.

He looks like a much more polished passer than Newton is. He is accurate and has a strong arm. Not sure how he will do wrt the mental side of the game.

I would wait on a qb till next season. This draft let's protect who ever is the starting qb with a good o-line.
OT/G, CB, S, LB, D-line

Also if we can get a 1st for RG3 I would take that deal and consider drafting a QB.

Jameis, with all his social media baggage is a legit NFL QB. I affectionately refer to him with my FSU alum buddies as "The Black John Elway"...Jameis current maturity < average...but, his NFL QB skills are off the chart.

Think about it...through all of the accusations and distractions, all Jameis does is win. If that's not a resume for a professional NFL QB, then I don't know what is. Unfortunately, our starting QB as much as I like him...has crumbled under the heat. And, being an NFL starting QB in a market like DC is all about how you handle the heat.

Come on dude...

I never said I thought we would or even could trade him for a 1st round pick right now. But thats the only thing I personally would accept in trde for Griffin. Mainly because you dont go out and pay Farrari prices for a 5.0, then turn around and sell it for the cost of a used escort. So we either need to ride with Griffin til the end of the year and see if he can become a more complete QB, or deal him for a high pick. But if all we get offered is a 3rd, stopgap him and draft a QB in 2016.

Mitz, I get your alumni allegiance and all, but this dude has major bust written all over him, and this has nothing to do with his physical talent. He is a train wreck waiting to happen. Let the Raiders or the Bucs spend their 1st on him. I'm ok waiting. No more projects or talent with issues. Stay vanilla. This draft is where we shore up our other weaknesses such as OL and secondary. Parlay that high first into a couple of slightly lower picks and get some talented rookies in here that can grow with us over the next 5 - 7 years and make up the nucleus of a football team.

NFL is full of players who had questionable character issues while they were kids in college. A lot of those kids, left their childish ways behind when they became a professional. "major bust"? maybe because of his childish behavior thus far in college, but on the field he has been everything any NFL team would want as a quarterback.

Talent will trump Jameis childish character concerns while he was in college...I did mention he is a kid in college didn't I?

I'm with Mitziman. Winston is the best prospect since Luck and its not even close. If the dude can get his shit together mentally, I think he will be a great NFL QB. JMHO.

Newton did it, Why can't Famous Jameis...
