Texas Jefe
Come and take it
if mama aint happy, no one is happy
Thanks, he is pretty damn good.
I think Mack could be again, if he didnt have as much interference as it appears he might have at UT from the administration. that and I think he might need to find some assistants that are a bit more top of the line. No offense to UT meant in any way.
Mack has very little support. Remember, the OU game proves nothing. It's a very emotional game and OU just isn't a top 5 team this year. We've won against weak teams since. West Virginia will be another weak team this week. I can almost guarantee we will looking good this week as well. The proof will be Baylor, Ok St. and TT. We'll see, but I highly doubt we will win all of those. Then the heat will be right back on Mack. He's done and the party will be at my house!
I will say this, be careful what you wish for(i.e. Browns Ousting) because if Saban is not on board(and signs point to him not being) then a good coach can be hard to find sometimes, especially with the knowledge of their being inner strife at UT.
Here are some things to consider in this. Saban is going to ask for complete control and by complete, i mean complete. Not one bit of interference from the Administration or the boosters will be tolerated. He will even ask for control over things like the student section in the stadium. He will not put up with any LHN network bullshit and will not have time for that if he continues his regimen he uses at Bama to win. He will ask that his assistants be who he wants and they are paid handsomely.
Something else he wont put up with is Admin strife and Board of Regents strife. He will tell them to walk or he will(and be employed the next day). If this is acceptible to the BoR and Admin at UT and they can out bid Bama then he may come, but I doubt it seriously because some of what needs to happen, wont and we both know that. Thats why UT is having problems currently.
That would be like Texas to throw money at someone near the end of their run.
One more time, it's not about money for Saban.
That is exactly how it should be done. If he was to abandon the team like RR did at WVU I could see some being mad but Saban had some everything he can at Bama and if he chose to leave they he should be thanked and congradulated. It wont make people happy because you cant just replace a coach like Saban but you still wish him well.Yeah, we've seen the story about Saban and Texas before. The possibility remains that he'll bolt at season's end, especially if Mac Brown goes the way of the Dodo.
If it happens, most Bama fans I know will be thankful to Saban for all he's done for the team and wish him no ill will. Bama has always been a very good football team under even average coaches, but under a good coach they're all but unstoppable.
Who replaces Saban at Bama? Kirby Smart?
I'd like to thank YOU, for yet another Saban thread.
