I'm looking at the scoring, but just want to clarify to make sure I'm fully understanding..

You want the most points, that's how you win. BUT you get negative points for good things happening, therefore, making the better players less valuable.

However, you want somebody that actually plays because they will accumulate points by "doing things" just not enough to be "good"

Do I have this right?

close enough... injuries will always be king in a league like this... so if you think you can predict injuries go at it!!! but there is enough ANTI INJURY PROTECTION that it is not very beneficial to predict it!!! if that makes sense...LOL... I'm sure that explanation only confused you!!!

It is roto scoring, so you can’t look at points like that.

Players contribute to team totals in each category, then teams are ranked based on where they stand in each one.

So if we have 10 teams, the team who throws the most INTs gets 10 points. The team who throws the least gets 1.

not just that... by making it rotisserie, that brings in punting categories... for example if you draft anthony richardson... He will likely not pass much, but he is going to rush a lot.... so, he will help your passing stats, but really hurt you in rushing....


Rotisserie actually brings in some nice little strategy into this... besides just FINDING THE BIGGEST BUSTS.... Not sure if thats a good thing though!!!

Right now we have 9 owners in the league...

We are waiting to get at least one but hopefully 3 more owners... as this is rotisserie, odd numbers of teams is not a bad thing... so i will not turn anyone down who wants in... I think an absolute maximum of teams would be 16.... but that would be crazy....

I am thinking we will start the draft no matter what on MONDAY.... hopefully we get 12... but 9 will work....

No the injuries make sense, if he's injured he has no chance of getting any negative points which would put you at a disadvantage

ahh... i see where the slight disconnect is... this is rotisserie now... not earning positive and negative stats....

think about it this way.... if i have 8 TDs, and you have 6 TDS, our rankings would have you being ahead of me....

dont think of it as actual stats, think of it as end of season rankings.... who is ahead of whom... the positive and negative points in the scoring is based on the RANKINGS not based on the actual stats...

2 are half categories and one is not even a half category... which i know that doesnt clear anything up.... but just saying... its more like 11.25 categories....

Is there something you see that we can make better?? i dont know if this scoring will work... I sure hope so, and think it will... but its a new league... so IDK what will happen...

Hm... I'm having trouble even figuring out who would have been a good pick last year.

when was the last time you did a rotisserie Fantasy baseball league(if ever, i know most here are football only people)... rotisserie baseball leagues, if you just check on players, they will be based on a point system... it will be similar here...

the rankings of players should still be the same as if it was a points league... you just have to know that some categories seep through multiple positions...

again... Players like Lamar Jackson, Anthony Richardson, Justin Fields, they are going to rush a lot.... and likely pass less often than the average QB... so you may want to take them as they will be better in the passing Categories... But they will hurt you in the rushing Categories... if youd want to, you can totally punt a category...

Receiving backs, will catch a lot of balls, and get lots of receiving yards... but will potentially not give you much in the rushing category...

Looks like that's not really the scoring, so you can ignore it.

@MilkSpiller22 - imagining this was a four-team, 1 QB league, can you show the 2022 scoring if the only QBs were Allen, Dalton, Mayfield and Dak?

notice that Allen gets 2 more points than mayfield for GP... GP is going to be accumulated by the whole team... not just one player.... so one players ranking in GP is not as impactful....

also, because this was only 4 players in a 4 team league, the scores are going to be very close... if we did this same rankings with 10 or more QBs, the scores would be more separated...

I also, did not include the LAST CATEGORY THAT WE ARE USING IN 2 PT CONVERSIONS... but that only counts as .25

the calculation was correct... but i forgot to put into the ranking that some were reverse ranking, others were regular ranking...
Also, Rush attempts is a half Category... So the rankings didnt add up without the calculations...

and i hope thats how the rankings will be counted... Whether we change how we do the scoring or not... I dont know how Fantrax calculates this... so we will see after week one if we need to change the calculations...

there should be no NEGATIVE NUMBERS in the rankings... think negative as REVERSE RANKINGS....
