Since everything else we discuss this year will be about something less interesting ...

Ballpark Digest has a nice feature about old ballparks. This one today on Facebook about Crosley from the 1940s. WOW, NO PADDING! Back when outfielders were real men who could climb a hill and still snag one off the board.

Also curious, wonder if they used a power lawnmower or one of those reel jobs.

Jeez John....
You couldn't have started this off with an easy one?

The only notable player I know that wore 4 was Lombardi. Brandon has been here for 11 years and the early 2000's was full of more forgotten names than wins. I think Brandon Larson might have worn number 4, but there's probably 2 or 3 between the Brandons.

Post a pic as a clue if you can find one.

This guy did play a minute with the 2006 Reds as mostly an infielder. He is a Venezuelan NDFA guy who hit 2 HR in his brief career. Played as recently as 2012 with the White Sox.

While you are debating No. 4, which former Reds pitcher is also lovingly called "Saturn Nuts"?

Is that Ray Olmedo?

Bronson's nuts..... I think it was a Curt Schilling reference.

I've heard George Foster called "The Destroyer"....
Marty called him by another nickname on the radio a couple days ago. I can't remember what it was. Did anyone else catch it?

Yahtzee was Foster's nickname. Nobody seems to know why.

The Reds set a MLB record last night!

I have seen 2 versions of this. One said they broke the bullpen record held by the Rockies.
Another graphic on the game said the 2004 Indians still hold the record at 22.
Either way, it's pretty fuckin' crappy.

Yeah... that's it. I didn't hear any back story either.

The records may be NL and AL.

I think they have a great chance to put the record out of reach before they're done, but I don't think I'll be too upset when the streak ends. Maybe shocked!!
