Polanco needs to make an adjustment to his slide. He wasn't off the base for long, but with slow-motion replay that tiny instant can be captured.

I thought he got his hand to the bag quickly enough that Phillips's tag may not have beaten it, but the evidence was deemed sufficient to call Polanco out.

Melancon is starting to strike guys out again. The velocity is back. He's back to looking like one of the best closers in baseball again.

Leake is getting strike calls that, if Cole had gotten the same call in the first (on a pitch more in the zone, in fact), it would have been a 1-run inning instead of a 4-run inning.

Cervelli drives in the insurance. 4-2 Bucs heading to the 7th.

Harrison whiffed Votto's single, and he ends up at third. Walker had a chance to get him, but the throw was way off line. An even decent one probably nails Votto.

And now Frazier ties the game.

Cervelli set up down and away, but Caminero came up and in and caught a lot of the plate, and even at 99 mph, Frazier's going to tag that.

I don't know why they throw him fastballs. He looks so awkward so often on sliders, and Caminero's is good.

At least Bastardo is finding his groove. He's been solid lately. Two strikeouts tonight to settle things down.

Walker is a problem.

In other news, we have a lot of hard outs tonight in big spots.

Why couldn't McCutchen's have been over the fence? Phillips's got out plenty easy.

This game is awful.

Strange the way the Reds have been able to hit the Pirates pitchers. I don't know if it's luck, or they have some info that the rest of the league doesn't have.

Couldn't believe the McCutchen one didn't go out.
