NEW YORK (AP) -- Cincinnati Reds pitcher Daniel Tuttle has been suspended for 100 games for a third violation for a drug of abuse under baseball's minor league drug program.
The 22-year-old right-hander was 1-3 with a 5.08 ERA in eight starts last year for Dayton of the Class A Midwest League and has been on the disabled list this year since April 4. He was selected by Cincinnati in the fifth round of the 2009 amateur draft.
Tuttle had been suspended 50 games for a second violation in July 2011.
The suspension announced Thursday was the 19th this year under the minor league program.

Roider or meth head ? If a roider, must not have been working... That single A 5.00 Ernie...if he's a meth head, he might show up as a 27 year old MLB rookie...a path blazed by Josh Hamilton and Atlanta's Gattis. I'll give them a first one, but 3 times ? In single A ? Says something about questioning the bonus money for a high school kid.

It appears the kid has addiction problems. Not much future for him now in pro ball.
Doesn't sound like a 'roider.

The odds were better on Josh Hamilton getting mauled by a polar bear and a grizzly bear in the same day than taking 3 years off in double A to go be a crackhead, and coming back to make a MLB team, and be a mega star a couple years later. ANYTHING is possible, and sometimes good things have to come from disasters. I wish him sobriety, without that, not much else matters.
