Chapman gave up 2 runs, at the end. Leake how many ? When ?
AC is working 5 of 6 games. Why not use Broxton there ?
Second guessing is perpetual. Leake wasn't fooling anyone, and dug an early hole. Like I said earlier, people don't want a closer to get beat on his second best, but criticize for not using one. It's unfair. An 88 mph slider was a good pitch, but not in that instance.
Chapman is the best athlete on the team- players say so. He is over armed. Leake is under armed. They both do the best they can in the role they are given. BOTH failed last night. Leake will not be asked to pitch again tonite though.
I see our offense is back to normal again tonight.
Gallardo hasn't pitched in 2 months and he's giving up 2 hits in 6 innings.
I think I'd rather blame the hitting coach tonight than Chapman.
Reds evidently have never seen Gallardo pitch before.
The video machine must have broken.
The ump sucks.
Whatever works here.
Our vaunted offense
Choo 0 for 3
Frazier 0 for 4
Votto 0 for 3
BUT THEY DID GET A COUPLE OF WALKS.
Leave Votto alone.
He has a great on base percentage.
So does Choo.
I know that last year, with Stubbs in CF, the Reds won 97 games.
This year, with our outstanding leadoff guy, we might be lucky and win 87.
