CY discards a lot of quality pitching. Englert, Ragans, Slaten, Kent and now Hoopii-Tuionetoa. We still have Yerry and Hernandez though.

As the year went along last year those became worse. He is not the same hitter he used to be. He is the same hitter we didn't try to sign in the offseason.

Our need for current amd future bullpen help is much greater than our current need for a spare RH DH.

If there is no confidence in Huff, Foscue, Crim, and company, then make a real trade in a few weeks for a RH bat. Package those guys with Hoopii-Tuionetoa and get a real hitter if they are all being given up on.

We are not in dire straits, and Grossman is not coming here and saving the day. This is a foolish trade.

Huff would have made a much better addition to the team. His OPS last year vs. lefties was .842. And he can play at two positions.

It is funny how so many of the Rangers fans on Twitter, all of a sudden think Grossman helps the team, yet I don't remember any of them complaining about us not signing him in the offseason or asking for this trade ahead of time. There is a really strong contingent of Rangers fans who wait to see what the Rangers front office does or doesn't do, and then they form opinions.
