Rams Sign S Matt Giordano

Looks like we are definitely saying goodbye to Mickell with this signing. Also, Darrien Stewart has some soft tissue injury, apparently nothing serious, and who knows if Matt Daniels has made it all the way back from last year's injury.

I believe Giordano last played for the Raiders.

Yea KSU. Apparently the little whipper is running his mouth now that he is a Niner and Long and Finnegan got wind of it and they tweeted that they were going to go right at Dahl to expose the wussie that he is-Twice a year no less.

But I don't think they have to worry about the little twit because Harbaugh will cut his ass before the regular season starts.

Yeah I read that story too...lol it would be really funny if Harborough did cut the clown before the season started. How are you going to talk about your former team when you were the weakest link. The rams are the only reason why he is still in the league. If there were any better options out there at Safety this fool would have been released and probably playing in the CFL some where.

I am a little surprised it was not Mickell. I would think he wanted too much $$$$$.

Hey Blue. This Matt Giordano is primarily a free safety and has played some corner. Was drafted in the fourth round by Indy in 2005 and went to Superbowl XLI and got a ring with Peyton Manning. Played with the Packers in 2007 and then went to Atlanta for a coffee break and ended up finishing the season with the Saints in 2010. Landed with the Raiders the last two years and Snead picked him up and they cut Unamba to get a roster spot. He is a Mikell type player at about 5'11 about 210lb. Brought in to compete with Stewart for the Free Safety spot.

I don't see a lot of Raider fans in the Hoop (at least on the Raider's board), so I'll chime in. He's a bit slow, under-sized & horrible tackler. He does seem to play with a lot of heart, so you will root for him. Plays free safety & I'm actually glad he is gone. We need drastic change on D. Good luck & beat the Whiners!

Hope this pans out for us. Fisher and Snead are truly building us a great team! Something Linehan/Zgymunt and Spags/Devaney failed to do.

Thanks RaiderZar, I hope then he is a special teams player and not the fix it for Dahl. We want hitters and speed in the defense and that is what they drafted for. Fisher must have a reason and I wonder what it is.

Blue. The more I read about this guy, the less I like. He must have a locker room presence since he has been to a bowl and all. Athletically, he is at the end of his career.

So either way, we are shaky at Safety...a drafted rookie and Darian Stewart are our only 2 options. Geesh...

Not so fast Jermaine. Just read an article over on Fox Sports indicating we have a bona fide steal of the draft with Cody Davis. The writer of the article suggested that Davis is such a power hitter with great hands and deceptive speed that he believes the starting safeties for the Rams just may be Davis and McDonald. And Fisher is trying his best to keep this all quiet because the writer stated that both he and Snead a re smiling alot these days about some of their talent that they got for next to nothing. So stay tuned on this one.

If Cody Davis is the solution it'll be luck more than judgement. If Fisher thought Davis was the answer he'd have traded a future 6th & 7th and made sure by picking Davis at the top of the 7th, thus committing him to a cheap 4-year deal. If plan A works it won't matter if we don't have a plan B. I just get the impression that we're creating a media plan A because the real Plan A is so shaky.
