two not so good plays by Del Zotto. Didn't pick up his man on the back side on the PK and didn't get the puck in deep ... Gudas looks a little slower than I expected but that could just be the coverage and my perspective.

.... If I was the Islanders I would do anything but be physical or use my stick...every time the Flyers go on the PP they rack up the chances.

Quick takeaways from a game with the Flyers dressing a near A team against a split squad for the Islanders. The Flyers are much quicker on all 4 lines than last season. They still have issues with D coverage and 2nd man pressure on the back check. That seems to be the players, Del Zotto is just not adept at back checking and playing the far post in his own zone...

There is a lot to look forward too in the upcoming season and a lot to frustrate.

This is the best Raffl has ever looked. Medvedev continutes to impress, Hagg was solid, and Ghost is scoring.

I want to think this is the result of black magic Hakstol genius. So far so good

On the broadcast they mentioned that they think he's better in the NHL than in the AHL because it's a simpler game in the NHL and that he's been able to simplify it better than most of the other young players

I haven't seen enough to comment about Medvedev's D game but on the PP he's been fantastic. Flyers will definitely roll out two very good units this year. Will be an interesting year....
