As a Hawk fan I'm just curious to know what the word is over there on Philly. What are they going to offer Maxwell?

As of right now we have about $25 million to spend on FA (and our current players) and that is without cuts to Cary Williams and restructuring of Coles/Ryans etc.

We will end up with $30 million to spend and resign our own guys.

I hope we don't overspend. He's a #2 corner that will probably get payed way to much. I like Maxwell but people can't forget he's got 3 of the best Secondary players around him and the best S in the league behind him.

We have plenty of money. It grows on trees in this league. You can create more of it almost any time you want. We have 4 vets with deteriorating performance that can be cashed in for more cap space at a moments notice.

We will have to and he will still be worth it. Overspending is the nature of FA. It's why you don't want to fuck up the roster so bad that you have to build an entire damn secondary through free agency.

Yes, get Max, Worilds, Rahim in FA, then draft the BPA OL in the 1st rd.

I think they have enough to make a run at this guy and sign Maclin, especially if they let Brandon Graham walk. But I am not sure Maxwell is worth the kind of money he will command. He is a #2 corner who was playing alongside three All Pro players in the Legion of Boom. This would be like signing Robin to a big contract because he looked good out there with Batman.

Well then, we'll have top nickname Max "Robin". I think we have to take the gamble that he will be worth it. If he bombs, then we have to shut up and stop blaming the team for not going after prime free agents. I doubt if he bombs though, just because his teammates are awesome.

I think we will get Maxwell as soon as FA hits. I think Williams is history if we sign possibly House. How funny it would be to have our secondary known as Maxwell House? Hopefully they would play great together and not be disgusting like the coffee.

Just heard The Professor John Clayton say that he's hearing that the Eagles are set to make an 8 plus mil per year offer to Maxwell as soon as it's "legal" to do so. It's no secret that the Eagles can open cap space very quickly by releasing overpriced vets ... getting Maxwell, even if they have to overpay would be a great add.

Yeah I think everyone is in favor of bringing Maxwell to Philly. We need him desperately. We'll need another corner as well - Tramon Williams would be a nice #2, stopgap type.

Imagine getting Maxwell and then using a #1 on the best corner available. Wow. Then add Searcy for the other S spot.
