We're not winning anyway, so I don't fear the imminent jinx of me starting this thread.

Matt Holliday is an unfairly good hitter sometimes. Doubles home the Cards' first run of the game on a 98 mph fastball at the knees on the outside corner. Great pitch from Cole, even better swing by Holliday.

I'm embarassed for this team watching them hit. Shelby Miller was absolute garbage, but they somehow only managed 3 hits and 0 runs. Then that debacle in the 8th. Just pure trash.

Man.

Maybe it is time for Polanco. Our offense has completely disappeared.

I think it is. Tim Williams at Pirates Prospects has a great read on what the Bucs could potentially do with a contract extension if Polanco were called up before the super 2 expiration.

How far down the standings is Neal willing to let them go before trying to bolster what ails them? I know most probably don't want to see Gregory come up, yet because of his lack of AB's at AAA, but damn, he is just mashing the ball right now. He had a double/RBI on Friday nite.

I missed most of the game but saw the highlights on quick pitch. 5 straight strikeouts to end the game and two with the bases loaded. Yeah even though Polanco might not hit right away they need something to wake this team up. Sad this early in the season and we are already discussing this!

Right now it is McCutchen and nothing else. If the rest of the team keeps this up McCutchen might break Bonds single season walk record. That is a joke 232 will be hard to ever touch but he can easily be on pace for top 10 all time single season.

Adams loaded the bases with an infield single (!), but Stolmy strikes out Molina to end the inning.

2-RBI double by Sanchez, he ends up on third on the throw.

Lyons does not look very good right now. Second time through the order woes.

3-0 Bucs. Wait, we have three runs not on home runs?

Ellis robbed Walker of a hit there. Sanchez stays at third.

Tabata brings home Sanchez with a hard single through the left side.

Even the outs are hard. Mercer hit that ball pretty well, a little under it, though.

Pimentel led off with a line out on a diving catch by Matt Adams.

Poor Stolmy. I thought he had it.

And Marte tagged on to center, but Bourjos was right there.

The announcers just gave an update. Flu-like symptoms. The trainer was holding his midsection, so perhaps some discomfort there was messing with his delivery.

Pimentel did well in relief, though.
