it is a pitchers year and we have the best starters ERA and second best BP ERA and best BP in my view because they are used the most and in tight games more than any other team and we are deep in the BP.
we have started 11 and burnett, wandy, liriano, locke, cole, morton, gomez, cumpton, and even irwin after his nervous first inning have all done very well.
we have great re-enforcements in AAA/AA/A in taillon, stolmy, kingham, heredia, glasnow, holmes, sadler, rodrigez, and even mcP and kjohnson.
they just took the highest scoring and hitting team in the NL and held them to 3 runs in 3+ games. the best team with RISP and shut them down.
unbelievable.
i just hope burnett stops flirting with disaster with his walks, hbp, high pitch count early in the game. we really need him to settle in as a big time ace fro the stretch run, giving us burnett, liriano, and locke in a series to get by with 3 guys if we have to.
given our depth, we might be one team that a WC play-in game might not disrupt, unless it is a 15 inning extravaganza.
