And that is all she wrote. The losing continues. We are fast approaching the 60-loss mark with just 40 games away from the century mark. Tomorrow fellows.

I am amazed that Rupp did not sacrifice Galvis to 2nd. That way we would have had two chances to bring him home.

Yea Northeast, we just do the little things all wrong and there were two of them tonight starting with Hernandez that just looked like AAA ball. Mackanin just sits there and they'll have to learn by playing.

All those small things really add up - Rupp not bunting, then sliding poorly into 2nd base after beating the throw, Cesar's high school running error on the base path, etc. These gaffs make the 2 solo homers given up by Morgan stand out more even though he still pitched a great game. To ensure young Phillies know how to play baseball, the new manager will need a more disciplined, authoritarian, coaching staff. Seig Heil! (just kidding). You get the idea.

You are right jvett. These guys are missing the training and discipline of taking care of the little things. I guy like Pete Rose would be perfect as a manager. Yea, I know he's old now, but that type of disciplinarian is what is needed not a bunch of slug-in-the-wintertime managers who sit around on there asses and collect a paycheck. And this whole idea of braindead of having older guys mentoring younger guys: That's a complete failure of course and is why we now have these ridiculous bullshit errors that cost us ball games.

Rose is already making a ton of money betting on the Phillies to lose! Rose as a manager? I would not
BET on it!

You missed the qualifier "like" Northeast. I get Rose has become a complete, full-blown sleeze-bag, but his type of discipline is what we need. O.K. bad example, but you get the point.

Actually, young or not, these freakin guys are adult professional MLB players making good money and shouldn't need schooling and a kick in the butt. Well. maybe some times when they get complacent. But that would happen less with the best staff. I do remember Samuel getting in Revere's face in the dugout a while back when he flubbed a long fly. Wait a minute, was Samuel at partially at fault when Hernandez got caught between first and second? Probably so.

Yes I do. However I think we need his enthusiasm and energy as will. Winning is an attitude!

I agree Northeast and I am glad you brought that idea to the forefront. Since braindead has gained control of this team and harnessed the Phillies with these albatross contracts and the disappearance of people who embodied a winning attitude like former managers and players like JRol, this team has totally lost that winning attitude. It has been completely gutted from this team. That energy and enthusiasm and the winning attitude is desperately needed on this team and the present FO and players don't have it.
