i would like to know who he is comparing Raymond to for those numbers. he has to compare to someone making that much to make his case seem realistic.

Wolski is probably the one?

there aren't many others to choose from

Wolski got a point per game in Phoenix though - he only played 18 games.
Phoenix also paid Scottie Upshall $2.25m (26 years old)
18 g, 32 pts in 45 games.

Alexander Steen maybe (26 yrs old)
24 goals, 47 pts, signed a 4yr deal for $3.36m per

David Clarkson for $2.67m from NJ ($8m over 3 yrs)
11 goals, 24 pts in 46 games.

Gilliaume Latendresse $2.5 mill from Minny ($5m over 2 yrs)
25g, 37pts in 55 games. this one should favour the Canucks.

I seem to remember Barry saying that though he felt Raymond and Lats were close, Raymond had a stronger overall year. If that's accurate, you would have to think they're looking in the 2.6-3 mill range, and if they're looking for 3 mill or under, you'd have to think that MG is thinking long and hard about it because we all know that anything can happen in arbitration and it always seems to favour the player.

Welcome to the board KickAss!

To me, anything under $3 would probably be acceptable.
