That was my avatar on ESPN and when I first joined here. Got a lot of backlash from the Flyer Faithful so I switched to the Clarkson one. May go back eventually not sure though.

My son, 22, is a huge Devils fan and is going to order Kovy's jersey. We both are very excited to have star quality scorer on Devils team.
Does anyone know about possible penalty to Devils by NHL for this signing attempt for 17y/102mil? Hopefully no punishment as everything was under CBA rules.

The league has until September, 17th to decide if they are going to punish the Devils. Part of the NHLPA agreement though was that the league couldn't remove cap space from the Devils, only fine the team and/or remove draft picks. Kovy can't be fined.

Bettman & Co should let it go, not only because I am Devils fan but as all know there was nothing out of CBA rules.

I think rejecting the deal in the first place should be punishment enough for the Devils. They were not blatantly violating any rule. It was a gray area that nobody could properly define and therefore I don't think they should be punished.

unfortuenately tho it does sound like they are highly considering penalizing the devs but we'll see.

to be honest im already concerned with the team getting under the cap.i would be allot more comfortable if the did something in the near future.with the possibilities of the potential penalties i would hate to see them rushing around last minute to make adjustments.

I haven't heard anyone say they expect the Devils to get penalized besides TG.

why would you ask in the negoatiation of the cba ammendment for that power to still punish the devils if you weren't considering using it?
