Doubront tonight, in a series i have slightly mixed feelings about.

Beating the Orioles increases the risk of the Sinstripes catchingt them
and winning a Wild Card erth, which I do NOT want!

Doubront comes in with aseason WHIP of 1.400,a bit better than his career 1.445.

The Baltimore startertonight is Wei-Yin Chen, in his 2nd MLB season at 27 years old,
with a season WHIP of 1.223.

Those numbers don't favor us, but the game is at Fenway, which at least partially
counteracts that.

GO RED SOX! :yahoo:

Who would join me in gladly including Doubront in a trade for Nick Markakis?

I doubt Baltimore would be interested in that deal without more bodies going their way.
So who would you be willing to include in such a trade?

Speak up,fellow Red Sox fans, even if you think I'm nuts!

Ortiz, I suspect, never thought that sac fly was going toe a homer, but DID know it
was a ribbie. That's what he was smiling about.

We caught a break on the ball 4 call to Victorino and made the most of it! Got to love that!

ADD to the lead, don't give it back, Boston!

Bad ump calls do balance out eventually.

We caught a break when Victorino got a walk he hadn't earned,
now Baltimore gets a similar call in their favor.

Balancing out usually takes longer than this, but it is the rule, not the exception.

KEEP YOUR COOL, RED SOX!

Doubront showing once again why he's expendable.

NO lead is safe when he's on the mound!

How long is it going to take Felix to blow THIS lead?

I really am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's not making that easy.

Better than usual game for Doubront tonight, but he's still expendable in my book.

I think I'll spend most of the rest of tonight checking other scores.

Be back tomorrow night, but this one looks pretty safe now.

Tonight it will be John Lackey (1.619 season WHIP, 1.178 career)
against 28 year old Bud Norris (1.735 Season WHIP, 1.416 career)

Norris is in his 6th MLB season, most of which was spent with the Houston Astros.

Lackey's having his best ever year in K/BB ratio at 4.06 while Norris was 2.09 in his 21 games
with Houston this year and 2.00 in 6 games with Baltimore.

In another game of interest toat least this Red Sox fan, Toronto's 2nd year
pitcher Todd Redmond will seek his 2nd lifetime MLB victory against Hiroki Kuroda
of the Sinstripes. Toronto is unlikely to catch the Sinstripes in the standings,
but I would love seeing them help keep NY out of the post-season
altogether. I'm not alone in that, am I?

Sinstripes behind Toronto by 5 runs in the 4th inning. And we're only 1 run down.

Looking like I could win both of my vCash bets tonight!

At their current in-game paces it would take Norris 167 pitches to go 9 innings,
but only 116 for Lackey. That definitely improves the chances for a come-from-behind win!

DO IT, RED SOX! :hope:

We've made Lackey wait long enough for his run support!

DON'T MAKE HIM WAIT ANY LONGER!

That's a partial rectification of the score, but a full one requires that we take a LEAD!
