yea, agree, kicking it deep would have made more sense. or even what I'm proposing in Plan A. you wouldn't be giving them as great of field position.

What is the actual percentage of on-side kick success anyway?

I assume less than 5%.

Success rate on onside kicks is actually about 23% BUT it drops to 14% when the kick happens in the typical late 4th quarter, team is trailing scenario. The ironic part about the onside is that it shoulod be used MORE early in games where the success rate is almost 40% and wayy wayy less late in games.i
