Mayock put out his preliminary draft rankings by position, and had Thompson at safety. He has him as the #2 overall safety.

Thompson in the First, Kendricks in the 2nd. Get the CB in Free Agency. Keep Ryans around for a year so you can ease Kendricks II in.

The quote I read, it sounded more like he was addressing the issue of playing RB. He said he was a Linebacker - but then followed that up by saying not a RB, and the LB position he played was alot like a Strong Safety.

This guy is getting alot of press. If he runs a 4.4 at the combine, we will be drafted well before #20.

Thompson is definitely built like a Safety. He's not an ideal fit as a backer in our system. He looks under 220 on film.
