Reds get 5 runs in the first 3 innings and spend the rest of the game getting a couple of men on base. You CANNOT win divisional titles by having 11 or 12 guys in a row retired by this sort of ordinary pitching.

Screw winning the division, I'd be happy just to make it to the playoffs at this point. Given this team's propensity to suck on the road and against good opponents combined with the fact that the Cardinals are trying to make a run at the greatest seasonal winning percentage by a team in MLB history, I'd say the likelihood that the Reds win the NL Central is lower than the likelihood of Dusty figuring out how to properly manage a baseball team.

Actually, I think the Reds have an opportunity to win the division. The Pirates are a myth. The Brewers are bad, and will be distracted by the PED/ Braun / Manager quagmire, and the Cubs are a mediocre AAA team. There are really only a few contenders in the NL- Reds, Cardinals, Braves, and a few out west- the Giants are better than they've played, do are the Dodgers, but they're ready to implode under the pressure of that payroll, and the D-Backs, who have more holes than they've showed so far, IMO. Are the Reds really worse than all these ? St. Louis is a good team, but not at the PCT theyve played so far.

The Reds have plenty of talent. They do seem to lose their good sense against good teams, and it's probably a combination of factors... being accustomed to getting breaks against the dregs they don't get against better teams, The dugout firm of Dusty, Dumbshidt and Dipschtick trying to look impressive isn't an advantage, but it may cause downstream problems with players trying to do too much to make up for the gaffes. The Reds seem to succumb to stupidity more than their play in those tough games. I'm hopefull they'll stop stepping on their Johnson's about the time the Cardinsls slump to .500 for a couple weeks. That's all it will take.

So, our Dusty moment of the week ... Cozart pops up on the first pitch, fails to bring in a run on the second at-bat with a guy on 3rd ... and hits into a double play on the first pitch the next time up.
I say move the guy up in the batting order, Dustbucket.

The Cubs are terrible. Looks like they could use some PFP... No clue on the bunts, looked like a bad Little League team. Garza got pummeled, a little justice there...he's a jerk that thinks a lot more if himself than is deserved. More than 1 Reds loss in a 4 game series here would be an embarrassment.

How in FUCK does this team decide to completely shut down its offense after the first inning?

Come on John...

They didn't shut it down after the 1st inning...

It was the 2nd inning.
